This is my typical Monday…

5:10 - 5:40 AM Wake-up to alarm. The alarm time depends on the length of the work out planned. I gear up and press play on the chosen Beachbody on Demand workout. (If the husband is home on days off, I’m working on being more consistent at putting on the runners and heading outdoors for a 5 - 10km run now that there’s early morning daylight and race season is quickly approaching!)

6:30 AM While waiting for the kids to wake up (if they’re not already awake) I sign into Client A’s email via Outlook.com and open up the other relevant sites I need for Client A: Asana (task management system), Dropbox.com for stored documents, and this must-have site for scheduling meetings across different time zones. I check the Inbox to see if there is anything urgent.

6:45 AM - 8:00 AM Shower and get dressed, make sure the kids are dressed, make breakfast (I can’t miss my veggie and egg scramble, topped with hot sauce and turmeric!), put the kids’ lunches/class reading homework/any due library books/permission slips into backpacks.

8:00 AM Check Slack for any messages from the team, and start replying to emails in Client A’s inbox.

8:20 AM Herd the kids out to the car for school.

8:50 AM Arrive back home, make a cup of tea (usually orange pekoe or my go-to from David’s Teas, cream of earl grey.)

9:00 AM Deal with emails in Client A’s inbox and and send out meeting and phone call requests that Client A has put in Asana.

9:30 AM Check in on Slack with Client A lead slayer, Jill, to make sure we’re on track.

10:00 AM Open up Client B’s email via gmail and check for any requests for appointments that may not have been forwarded to my email. If there’s an appointment request I check Client B’s Google calendar and reply with available dates.

10:30 AM Check back in with Client A’s emails and respond to anything new in the Inbox. Start or add to Itinerary for Client A’s next trip, and make sure it’s accessible in Dropbox.

11:30 - 11:45 AM Finish up with Client A and update Jill with anything that’s not self-explanatory.

12:00 PM Open Hootsuite and schedule Client C’s social media posts for the upcoming week for Facebook

12:30 PM Put together a salad or a shake for lunch and relax over several pages of my latest library pick.

1:20 PM Leave to go pick up the kids from school.

2:00 - 5:00 PM Slaying, if I’m covering for the team (I have a strict shut down rule of 5pm to be available to my family); or, I’m running around using Monday afternoon for appointments for myself or the kids. Get dinner prepped or started, and lunches packed for the next day.

5:30 PM - 8:30 PM Springtime Monday evenings we don’t have activities scheduled so if the husband is home from work, we get in the all-important sit-down-as-a-family dinner with no tv on. Dishes and clean-up, bedtime routine for the kids including reading time and practicing spelling words.

8:40 PM Typically I jolt awake in one of the kids’ beds, and head downstairs to catch up on PVR or Netflix, while I fold laundry. Check in on Slack to see if I missed any chatter from the other Slayers, and set up my laptop ready to stream the next morning’s workout.

9:45-10:00 PM Head to bed and wonder why I didn’t go sooner.
